Site Investigations
Where the ground cannot be excavated due to surface structures, or where the investigation would cause unnecessary and expensive property damage, we will use one of our drill rigs. A typical drilling investigation requires 2 days of site work to complete.Drilling investigation normally takes place around the perimeter of buildings - we design the investigation to minimise intrusion and ground disturbance. We have the expertise and equipment to drill from inside properties if necessary.
We draw up an investigation plan before we start work, in consultation with utility companies and property owners. Upon completion of the investigation we make an accurate survey of the works, recording the exact locations and dimensions of investigations for future reference.
Our investigation reports are recognised and accepted by the legal profession, mortgage lenders, regulatory authorities and civil engineers alike.
Other forms of investigation include the surveying and inspection of wells and shafts. Our Mining Geologists are often call on to inspect wells in West Cornwall, to see if they are actually a well or a mine shaft.
When problem features are found, they can be excavated and dealt with by our skilled and experienced staff. We have capped and stabilised hundreds of mine workings up and down the County. Call us on 01872 560200.
