Mundic Testing
We have our own in-house Stage 3 test facility, run under the supervision of RICS member staff in accordance with RICS guidelines.
We are able to offer Stage 1, Stage 2 and Stage 3 ‘mundic’ analysis of concrete samples. Call us on 01872 560200.
Stage 1 Mundic testing is a visual assessment of the composition and condition of concrete cores drilled from the property.
Stage 2 Mundic testing is a visual inspection of a single microscopic ‘thin section’ from one core.
In January of 2002 RICS issued a supplement to the 2nd Edition of the Guidance Notes, outlining a new test - Stage 3 - for classifying mundic concrete.
The Stage 3 test is an actual, physical test of the performance of the aggregate under conditions that simulate aging and weathering.
Successful completion of the Stage 3 test has released Class B properties back on to the mortgage market by re-classifying them as Class AB.
